ABOUT ELEVATE
'Elevate' is the student ministries program of First Church of Christ for students in grades 6-12. Our mission is to "Connect Imperfect students to a perfect God."
We have three goals for every student in our ministry. We want students to connect to God through worship, small groups and service.
ELEVATE WORSHIP - WEDNESDAY PM
Elevate is a worship service for 6-12 graders and sponsors on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm. The goal of this service is to offer our students an opportunity to worship God together through singing, dancing, playing and hearing God’s word.
This year our schedule is a little bit different. From 6-6:30pm we are giving students time to hang out and grab a snack from our snack bar. From 6:30-7:15pm we will have our worship service. To finish things up from 7:15-8pm we will be breaking students in 6-8 grades and 9-12 grades into smaller groups for a discussion time.
We are really excited about this school year and can’t wait to spend time worshipping God and hanging out together.
SMALL GROUPS - SUNDAY AM & WEDNESDAY PM
In a big church it’s easy to feel disconnected and alone. To combat these issues we strongly encourage students to join a small group. They provide a place for students to discuss issues with other students and an adult leader who wants them to know Jesus.
Here are the small group opportunities for 6-8 graders. Sunday AM from 9-10am in Room 201 with Jimmy & Jennifer Harris, and Kevin Brickhouse. Wednesday PM from 7:15-8pm with a member of the ELEVATE student ministry team.
SERVICE - SUNDAY PM
“Love God, Love People, Serve Both!” We believe that a true follower of Jesus is someone who not only attends worship services and small groups but is someone who serves others. And this year we’re getting a lot more intentional about this aspect of our ministry.
Most months have four Sundays. Our plan each month is to use the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, unless otherwise noted, to serve. Some students may serve in children’s ministry while others serve in the local food bank. Regardless of where they serve students will have planned nights each month where the focus isn’t on them but on others.
The 2nd Sunday of the month will be used as a game/activity night.
The last Sunday of the month will be THE PATH!
