Steve Hill just
celebrated his 21st year with First Church, having been called by First Church of Christ in 1987 to be an Associate Minister,
with an emphasis on Youth. As the Church grew, and more staff was added,
he took the position of Associate Minister of Education and Worship.
His current
responsibilities with First Church include overseeing the Education
Ministry, Contemporary Worship, and the preaching in the contemporary
service, teaching elective classes on Sunday and Wednesday
evenings, overseeing small group ministries, and teaching a Bible School class. Steve has also been the director of the
church's Living Christmas Tree program each year it has been presented.
Upon our Senior Minister,
Ray West's retirement in April of 2009, Steve will assume the Senior
Minister position.
Steve is a 1977 graduate
of Roanoke Bible College. His hobbies include working with computers,
camping, and woodworking. Steve and his wife, Sherry, a network engineer
with the school system, have been married 33 years. |
